The energy-efficient MSC C10M-AL COM Express™ Mini module family with Type 10 pinout is based on the recent Intel® Atom™ E3900 processor series (codenamed “Apollo Lake”). The 55 x 84 mm compact and ruggedised modules are best suited for IoT applications. All components including up to 8 GB DDR3L SDRAM memory with optional error correction (ECC) are soldered onto the printed circuit board. Single COM Express™ board variants are specified for use in extended operating temperature range of -40° to +85°C. Manufactured in Germany by MSC Technologies (an Avnet Company), these Computer-On-Modules offer a long-term availability of up to ten years after product introduction.
The MSC C10M-AL COM Express™ Mini modules support the connection of two independent displays via DisplayPort/HDMI/DVI and LVDS/Embedded DisplayPort (eDP). The broad range of industrial interfaces includes 2 x USB 3.0/USB 2.0, 6 x USB 2.0, up to 4 x PCIe x 1, 2 x high-speed UARTs, and 2 x SATA channels. Optionally, the MSC C10M-AL is equipped with an eMMC storage device offering up to 64GB for booting or data storage.
The Mini module is available in five processor variants. The most powerful Intel® Atom™ processor based modules integrate the E3950 (1.6/2.0GHz, 12W TDP) or the E3940 (1.6/1.8GHz, 9.5W TDP) processor with four cores. There is a compatible module with dual-core E3930 (1.3/1.8GHz, 6.5W TDP). The embedded modules with quad-core N4200 Intel® Pentium® with 1.1/2.5GHz or dual-core N3350 Intel® Celeron™ with 1.1/2.4GHz processors have a turbo boost mode to offer additional computing performance. The on-chip Intel® Gen 9 HD Graphics offers significantly improved graphics functionality and supports DirectX® 12, OpenGL 4.3 and OpenCL™ 2.0.
For improved security, MSC Technologies optionally integrates a Trusted Platform Module (TPM) compliant to TCG (Trusted Computing Group) onto the MSC C10M-AL.
